In this case, the appellant, Ms FBF, sought to appeal an order made by Judge Porter KC DCJ in the District Court dismissing her initial appeal regarding a Domestic Violence and Family Protection Act directive. The original protection order had been issued by Magistrate Pink on 17 October 2023. Ms FBF filed her notice of appeal in the District Court on 18 October 2023, which was subsequently dismissed. On 19 March 2024, Ms FBF appealed against the whole of Judge Porter’s order to the Court of Appeal. The registry highlighted section 169(2) of the Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012, which states that the decision of the appellate court is final and conclusive. Ms FBF's additional application contained unsupported and scandalous allegations. In the hearing, Ms FBF, representing herself, failed to provide any substantial legal arguments. Justice Dalton referenced previous case law, particularly DU v TG [2022] QCA 225 and a subsequent High Court decision, to demonstrate that the Court of Appeal lacks jurisdiction for such appeals. Consequently, the appeal was dismissed, and no orders about costs were made, as none of the parties sought them.
