Health Ombudsman v HCG [2020] QCAT 166

In the case of Health Ombudsman v HCG [2020] QCAT 166, the respondent, a medical practitioner, was subjected to disciplinary action by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT). This action followed his convictions for two indictable domestic violence offences and a breach of a domestic violence order. Despite a history of psychiatric issues and previous undertakings regarding his medical practice, the Tribunal found HCG's conduct amounted to professional misconduct. Consequently, HCG was reprimanded and disqualified from applying for registration as a medical practitioner until 10 December 2020.
