In R v WCB [2024] QCA 62, the Supreme Court of Queensland dismissed both the application for an extension of time within which to appeal and the applications to introduce new evidence in the case against WCB, who was convicted of unlawfully and indecently treating a child under the age of 16. The Court reviewed the applications, including challenges based on alleged inadequate representation, a post-trial diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and claims of an unreasonable verdict considering the evidence. The Court found no merit in the grounds presented.
