In Re an Application under the Court Funds Regulation 2009 [2024] QSC 117, the Supreme Court of Queensland, presided over by Justice Davis, addressed an application by Christopher Davies, Deputy Registrar of the Court, to transfer certain monies to the Consolidated Fund. The application involved inactive accounts under the Court Funds Regulation 2009, which required a list of such accounts to be prepared and advertised. Despite the advertisement, no applications for payment out orders were made for some account items. Consequently, the Court granted an order to transfer the remaining balances, totalling over $178,000, to the Consolidated Fund after deducting advertising costs.
